Gettin back on track & 0.3.3 released
It has been a while. My hardware problems have been resolved (to some extent). On friday I received my Thinkpad 43p. It is now fully configured and I found some time to work on jsPgnViewer also. I figured out how to tackle the Safari issue. I’ll just have Mac OS X installed in WmWare and hopefully I’ll locate the problem quickly. But this is already for the next weekend.
Laptop configuration issue that I just have to note. ATI Linux support is kinda funky. The latest archive did not compile. I found a dirty patch and it still did not compile. I removed includes for linux/config.h and got a compile. This is not something a user should be doing! I tried different tactics to get overlay support but with no luck. I’ll just wait for the next release of the driver. The driver xorg comes bundled with is just too slow and I’m better off without mplayer -vo xv than slow 2d/3d.
After I get Safari support done I’ll start working on feature releases. PGN variations, comments are first priority. Adding different chess-, button-, colorsets is number two. During the same time I’ll try to popularize the plugin, don’t know how yet. I’ve implemented some new features for chesspastebin.com I’ll update that site soon.
I’ve done all the exams that I was supposed to. Actually I failed one of them but I retook it and got a C. I’m feeling good.
Head off to the downloads section and grab 0.3.3 and to the issues list to add feature requests. Note that it is just a bugfix release, see the changelog for more information. Stay tuned for updates.
